The Financial Accounting Standards Foundation (FASF) today announced that the Accounting Standards Board of Japan (ASBJ) and the Sustainability Standards Board of Japan (SSBJ) will jointly host the Spring 2027 meeting of the International Forum of Accounting Standard Setters (IFASS) in Tokyo, Japan.

IFASS is an independent group of national standard-setters from around the world, plus other organizations that are closely involved with financial reporting issues.  IFASS is currently co-chaired by the Chairs of the Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) and the Accounting Standards Board (AcSB) of Canada.

IFASS meetings are held twice a year, in spring and autumn.  While the autumn meetings are held in London, the spring meetings are hosted by national standard-setters.  The Spring 2027 IFASS meeting will be hosted jointly by the ASBJ and the SSBJ on 7-9 April 2027 in Tokyo, Japan.

In addition to hosting the IFASS meeting, leveraging the opportunity that representatives from around the world would be visiting Japan, the ASBJ and the SSBJ plan to host an event for Japanese stakeholders.  Details will be announced when they become available.
